Partial Denture
If several of your teeth are missing, look no further! Our team can design a partial denture specifically for you. Come meet us at our dental clinic in Île-Perrot to learn if this tooth replacement solution suits your needs!
By replacing your missing teeth, partial dentures significantly improve the appearance of your smile and make your face look younger. Moreover, they allow you to eat normally and express yourself without speaking impairments. For these reasons, as well as to preserve your oral health, you should use a partial denture if you have lost several teeth on your upper or lower jaw.
Partial dentures are also always designed using measurements and imprints taken by your dentist. This way, they fit well with the remaining natural teeth to give the smile a natural look. Optimal adjustment also makes them stable and comfortable to wear. You will then rediscover the joy of smiling, eating and talking with your loved ones. At Centre Dentaire Don Quichotte, we offer two types of partial dentures: traditional dentures and implant-supported dentures. Our team will advise you on the type of denture best suited to your needs depending on the teeth that need to be replaced, the condition of your oral health, your lifestyle and your budget.
Partial Denture
Traditional denture or implant-supported denture?
In most cases, the denture base is made of acrylic because it is a solid and comfortable material. With the traditional partial denture, one or more denture teeth are held in place by getting support in the gums as well as with metal hooks attaching to natural teeth.
In contrast, the implant-supported partial denture is composed of two prosthetic parts connected to each other with a metallic section. Nonetheless, the prosthetic parts are firmly attached to the person’s jaw with dental implants. The implants will have been first installed during surgery.
In both cases, the partial denture is removable: it can be removed for teeth or denture cleaning, as well as removed for the night.
Advantages of traditional partial dentures
A traditional denture allows you to replace several teeth missing on a single jaw with a single denture. It is built according to the client’s particular characteristics and its colour blends perfectly with natural teeth in order to achieve the most aesthetic result possible. It offers good stability to replacement teeth because it attaches with hooks.
Implant-supported partial dentures
With the support of dental implants, the implant-supported partial denture gives a better chewing capability than the traditional denture. It is comfortable to wear and has a natural appearance in the mouth. Also, the loss of bone volume in the jaws is avoided with dental implants.
